The much anticipated bout has been blighted by Powers’ refusal to sign a contract obliging him to face Banku after a prophecy from his spiritual advisor T.B Joshua. There have been two postponements of the fight already with the latest happening on the April 7 when Powers again refused to sign the contract. In a related development,the promoter of the fight, Alex Ntiamoah Boateng of Box Office Promotions also confirmed the search for a new opponent. “I have two opponents locked down and we will announce on Monday the identity of this new opponent.” Ntiamoah Boateng also responded to reports that Powers was holding up the fight in search of a larger chunk of the purse. “He signed a contract and the new amount he is asking for is impossible.
