6:43:23 PM Technologies That May Change Your Life in 2014
The year 2014 promises to bring us even more amazing technology from the
giants of the tech world and more than a few surprises from
entrepreneurs around the planet.
DreamOval has taken its pick of the technologies and tech people will make the most waves through 2014. First we take a look at the Hardware Innovations that we think will shake up the market in 2014 The Raspberry Pi Who would have thought that what amounts to a tiny, relatively weak computer could become so popular? It’s no tablet, can’t compete with the Playstations and XBoxes as a gaming platform, and it won’t replace your work machine anytime soon. It’s basically a bare-bones, programmable computer sold at a very very low price. But the Raspberry Pi is quickly improving to be one of the most important tools ever devised for promoting the teaching and learning of basic computer skills and programming. With projects like the Kano going to market in 2014 there’ll be millions more wielding the Power of Pi in their hands. Drones Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) or drones as they are popularly known have existed for a while but have mainly come into the public eye due to their use as weapons of war. That notwithstanding, civilians are increasingly finding ways of using drones for far less violent objectives. With companies such as Amazon declaring plans to make deliveries using drones, 2014 may prove to be the year that this military technology finally finds day-to-day use by the general public. 3D Printing The idea may seem weird and outlandish at first but its true. We’ve created the means to actually 3D Print objects from any digital model and the potential uses are amazing. To be fair, this technology has been around for a while but what makes this year so exciting is the fact that prices have finally dropped low enough to make this technology more accessible to the masses. With potential uses in rapid prototyping and to reduce production costs for expensive tools, 3D printing is ready to disrupt a number of industries. Source: DreamOval
