The fate of 90 remand prisoners, locked up for years at the Sunyani Central Prisons will soon be known under the “Justice for All” programme. The suspects have spent between three and 16 years on remand for various crimes including murder, manslaughter, armed robbery and fraud. A 22-year-old national of Gabon has been arrested on suspicion of stabbing an Ivorian to death at Weiman in Accra. John Maviane, a student of the Ambassador University College at Lapaz, is believed to have struggled with the 24-year-old Ivorian, Madeleine Josian E. Two soldiers who are alleged to have been arresting people falsely and taking money from them have been apprehended by the Kwabenya Police in Accra. The police in Lagos have arrested the runaway boyfriend who took the life of Ms Njideka Lizzy Nzewe, the Managing Director of EDMARK. 31-year-old Kelechi Williams is said to have strangled his victim on July 19 in the Amuwo Odofin area of the state after which he escaped to Ghana with some of her belongings. A 33-year old Ghanaian federal immigration official, Samuel Nyanteng has been arrested in the US for submitting fraudulent documents and making false statements in order to illegally bring another person into the United States from Ghana. Nyanteng, was taken into custody at about 6 a.m. when detectives executed a search warrant at his Leslie Street home, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office. A man who stabbed a friend to death after a failed romance with his sister has been jailed for life for his murder. Paul Mapps, 26, of Trinant, Caerphilly, stabbed Ian Davies, 27, with a kitchen knife at a house party in January. The court heard the men had been good friends but their relationship became "somewhat volatile" when Mr Davies starting dating Mapps' sister Dawn, 30. A 44-year-old electrician who is alleged to have repeatedly defiled his biological daughter for the past two years has been arrested by the police. A mother has been jailed for having sex with her 12-year-old son – while her partner watched and directed her over a webcam. The woman wore headphones as she abused the boy in her bedroom as her lover viewed online from abroad. The boy told police how he could hear his 39-year-old mother being told what to do as she gave him a ‘sex lesson’. Three police officers of the Upper West Regional Police Command were on Tuesday remanded into prisons custody by the Wa Circuit court presided over by His Honor Bright Issac Kwentey for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old primary six pupil. An Accra Circuit Court has sentenced Mohammed Mumuni, and Ali Mohammed, both porters to 15 years imprisonment for conspiracy to commit crime and 20 years for robbery.
